- Speeds: from 1,500 to 20,000 rpm
- Shaft position: parallel
- Alignment: horizontal or vertical
These gear units are normally single-stage with parallel axes that can be offset horizontally or vertically. The teeth are either single-helical with or without thrust cone or else double-helical.
These gear units have a maximum output of approx. 100 MW, which is equivalent to five million 20 watt light bulbs.
They are used mainly for power generation, off- and onshore oil drilling platforms, pipelines, refineries and chemical plant.
